A mix of sand, lime, and clay creates a more earthy finish than concrete stucco and can be applied to all sorts of surfaces: straw bale, cob, metal and wood lathe, drywall. Pigments add color to the fabulous texture of a plaster finish. |

Earthen Plaster on a Small Round Strawbale House
Our exterior plaster project was accented by an artist friend from Charlottesville, VA. The house made it into this Handmade Houses book. The plaster consists of clay, sand, and lime and has a scratch coat (first coat) and a finish coat.

Interior Plaster
This interior plaster is troweled to a fine finish and will last a very long time. This is a basic lime and sand mix with no pigment laid on over sheetrock.
