Lumber and Flooring

The process of turning forest into logs and logs into lumber and lumber into something useable is a long process indeed. Part of the Earthaven Forestry Cooperative for many years, I handled all phases of this process. My crew and I try to take as much responsibility for the trees we cut as possible, even though the profit margin is slim. We process local lumber, dry at a local kiln, and plane at a local mill. We stock black locust lumber; tongue and groove flooring in oak, maple, birch and other hardwoods; and mountain laurel and rhododendron branches.
