Cat Finks

Cat Finks is living in Asheville, North Carolina. She is an acupuncturist and herbalist and has her own business: Asheville Community Acupuncture.

When Cat returned to Asheville after receiving her degree in Chinese Medicine in the spring of 2000, she opened her own clinic, Community Acupuncture, and began building a practice, one that continually grew, although in unpredictable fits and starts.  In 2001, she closed down that business when she was invited to join the staff at the of the Chinese Acupuncture and Herbology Clinic, an established and well-regarded clinic with a large clientele and a busy staff in the beautiful Montford area of Asheville. In 2006, she returned to her more rewarding community style, sliding scale practice.

As you can read on her website, Cat was one of her Acupuncture School's most outstanding students, graduating with a 3.9 GPA. She has proved to be a skilled practitioner, who quickly earned the respect and affection of her patients and the admiration of her peers in Asheville's medical community.

Like other members of her family, Cat has done a good bit of traveling since graduating from Warren Wilson College in 1990. She has lived in Ithaca, N.Y., Sonoma County, Calif., Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and has traveled throughout the U.S., including Alaska, in Mexico and Central America, in the British Virgin Islands, in India and Nepal, in Spain, Italy, Egypt, and Turkey, in Thailand and other countries in southeastern Asia, and for a semester, in Chengdu, China, as an intern at a Chinese hospital.
